Why are the SIOR Canada chapters coming together as SIOR Canada?

By bringing together SIOR Canada East, Central and West Chapters to create SIOR Canada, we will be able to set a strong, unified voice for the organization across the country. SIOR Canada will represent and be made up of the national leaders in commercial real estate brokerage, setting the bar for others in the profession.

Streamlining our operations and communications under a national brand allows us to enhance visibility of SIOR to core audiences across the country. It will enable us to disseminate a more consistent and impactful message on a national scale, and contribute to a stronger, more influential presence in the Canadian industry.

Is anything disrupted if I am in the process of becoming an SIOR?

Nothing will be disrupted or change in terms of becoming an SIOR and the current process.

Who do I contact for membership support?

As always, membership support is managed through SIOR’s main headquarters. To learn about SIOR membership in Canada, please visit the SIOR website

Can SIOR Canada members attend all regional events taking place across the country?

Yes, SIOR Canada members are more than welcome to register and attend any SIOR Canada event taking place across the country.

What does this mean for current members/what will change?

Current Canadian SIOR members from all chapters will automatically fall under SIOR Canada. While SIOR Canada will still be recognized as three separate chapters, members will now sense a national presence in SIOR’s outgoing communications.

Little will change for the membership in terms of regular operations. Members will see increased communication from SIOR Canada, which will include national information on the latest news and events from all regions.

Members will also have to note the change to our website, which will transfer to SIORcanada.com. Members will still access their personal profiles through the main SIOR website

How will membership requirements work in the future, given each location is separate?

Gross fee income requirements for each region will remain the same and all regional requirements for each region will remain in place.

Which social media channels do I follow?

The SIOR Canada Central Chapter was the most active on social media with the strongest following. Those channels will become the official SIOR Canada social media channels. The social media channels/pages of the SIOR Canada East and West Chapters will be phased out and eventually closed.
